EOSC PBL CO–ADVISOR LINDA MORGAN PRESENTS PBL’S CAREER AND MEMBERSHIP ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM
By PBL Reporter, Stephanie Stotts

Eastern’s Oklahoma State College Phi Beta Lambda Co–Advisor Linda Morgan recently presented the PBL Career and Membership Achievement Program (CMAP) to members.

"There are three levels of individual achievement included in the PBL Career and Membership Achievement Program," Morgan said. "Each level is built around the three words in the PBL crest: Service, Education, and Progress. Individuals participate in integrated workplace activities tied to business, education, leadership, public relations, and service.

Students may complete as many levels as they wish, upon adviser approval, in a one year time period. Activities not completed in one year may be carried over into the next year. Projects completed for each level must be different."

The first award level is the Director Level. It focuses on introductory community service and career research activities, and PBL involvement at the local level.

The second award, Executive Level, focuses on developing job interview skills, state and national PBL involvement, public relations activities, and leadership.

The Presidential Level is the highest a student can be awarded. This level focuses on job interview preparations, community and campus service, and total association leadership.

"Many of you have already completed activities that would fulfill requirements for the various levels,” Morgan added.  "It will take commitment on your part to document the activities, but it can be done."

Members are awarded pins at the local, state, and national levels of PBL depending upon the level of completion.

"This is a great way to become more involved in PBL and prepare yourself for the world of work," Morgan said.
