Hank Mooney, Office of Public Information
Students from across the state of Oklahoma
continue to swell the ranks of the newly restored Eastern Oklahoma
State College track program. The "walk-on" program will return to Eastern in August after an absence
of more than 16 years. Under Coach Glen Stone's leadership in the past,
Eastern's track program dominated state and national competition and
brought ten national championships home to the Wilburton school. Stone
has returned to "help give that opportunity once again to youngsters
willling to sacrifice and work hard to better themselves."
Billy
Christy, center, from Eufaula will run in the 400 meter and
800 meter events for Coach Stone, left, beginning in the fall. Christy
