More than 100 students at Eastern Oklahoma
State College received endowment scholarships through the Eastern
Oklahoma State College
Development Foundation recently at an awards assembly in the Student
Union Ballroom on the Wilburton campus. Many of the students were those
who had applied for the scholarships in early March and will be incoming
freshman when classes begin next fall.

Brittnie Mullins |
| Brittnie Mullins from McAlester
was presented the AEP (Public Service Company) Scholarship by
Vice
President for Academic Affairs, Brenda Steuer. Mullins will be a
freshman majoring in general studies. Her plans are to become a
respiratory therapist. She is the daughter of Brandi and Eddie
Mullins. Mullins graduated from McAlester High School and participated
in softball, FCCLA, FFA, track, psychology secretary, office aide, prom
committee and class representative. |

Kendale Fields |
| Kendale Fields from Wetumka
was presented the AEP (Public Service Company) Scholarship by
Vice President
for Academic Affairs, Brenda Steuer. Fields is a freshman majoring in
environmental science. His plan is to be employed by the Agriculture or
Wildlife Management and Communication Department. He is the son of
Randy and Sandy Fields. Fields graduated from Wetumka High School and
was the recipient of the State Agriculture Proficiency Award in FFA and
2005 recipient of the State FFA Degree, the Hughes County 4-H Hall of
Fame in 2001 and the FFA Star Green Hand in 2001. He was class officer,
4-H officer and the FFA officer. He enjoys hunting, fishing and all
outdoor activities. |

Parker Richey |
| Parker Richey from Panola was presented the Albert
Shelton Memorial Scholarship by Vice President for Academic Affairs,
Brenda Steuer. Richey will be a freshman majoring in physics and
computer science. His plan is to receive an education that he can
use to obtain a good career. He is the son of Richard and Gail
Hill. Richey graduated from Panola High School and was active in
the Boys Scouts, Wiburton FBC Church Youth Group, Panola FFA Chapter
Website and audio/visual electronics. |

Cynthia Deela |
| Cynthia Deela was presented
the Bill and Anna Vee Hill Scholarship by Vice President for Academic
Affairs, Brenda Steuer. Deela is a sophomore majoring in administrative
office technology. Deela is from Wilburton and is married to Reuben
Deela. She is a Phi Theta Kappa Member and is active with their
ten
year old daughter’s cheerleading, soccer, class projects and trips. |

Janise Myles |
| Janise Myles from Sweeney
was presented the Bob Williams Scholarship by Bob Williams. Myles
is a freshman majoring in physical therapy. Her plan is to attend
Texas State University after she graduates from Eastern. She
is the daughter of Willie and Marcella Myles. Myles graduated
from Sweeney High School and was active in NHS, volleyball, basketball,
track, FCA and was a class officer. |

Solomon Allen Grant |
| Solomon Allen Grant from Spiro
was presented the Carl Ryan Scholarship by Carl Ryan. Grant will
be a
freshman majoring in agriculture business. He plans to attend Oklahoma
State University to get his bachelor’s degree in agriculture business.
Grant is the son of Solomon Grant Sr. and Valeria Grant. He is a
graduate of Spiro High School and was active in FFA, Land Judging Team,
speech, FCCLA and was an FFA officer. |

Joshua Redwine |
| Joshua Redwine from Bennington
was presented the Carl Ryan Scholarship by Carl Ryan. Redwine
is a
freshman majoring in agriculture education. He plans to get his
bachelor’s degree and teach as an agriculture instructor. Redwine is
the son of Stephen and Sandra Redwine. He is a graduate of Bennington
High School and was active in high school varsity athletics, FFA,
Fellowship of Christian Athletes, high school academic team, Eastern
soils team and an FFA officer. |

Olivia Wood |
| Olivia Wood from Olive was
presented the Carl Ryan Scholarship by Carl Ryan. Wood will be a
freshman majoring in agriculture education. Her plan is to become an
agriculture teacher and work at a small school. Wood is the daughter of
Warren and April Wood. She is a graduate of Olive High School and was
active in FFA, HOSA and an FFA officer. |

Clinton Mefford |
| Clinton Mefford from Rock
Creek was presented the Carl Ryan Scholarship by Carl Ryan. Mefford
will be a
freshman majoring in pre-veterinary science. He plans to attend
veterinary school after completing his education at Eastern and Oklahoma
State University. Mefford is the son of Terry and Debbie Mefford.
Mefford was a graduate of Rock Creek High School and was active in
baseball, FFA Star Greenhand, FFA Star Chapter Farmer Award, tractor
driving and an FFA officer. |

Laura O’Donnell |
| Laura O’Donnell from Carney was
presented the Carl Ryan Scholarship by Carl Ryan. O’Donnell will be a
freshman majoring in animal science. She was encouraged by her Uncle
Mickey, who played baseball for Eastern in the 1980’s, to come to
Eastern. She is the daughter of Tammy O’Donnell. O’Donnell graduated
from Carney High School and was active in softball, basketball, FFA,
Meats Judging Team and an FFA officer. |

Jennifer Robertson |
| Jennifer Robertson from Wister
was presented the Carl Ryan Scholarship by Carl Ryan. Robertson
will be
a freshman majoring in agriculture economics. She plans to attend
Oklahoma State University majoring in agriculture economics with a minor
in accounting. Robertson is the daughter of William and Nola
Robertson. She graduated from Wister High School and was active in
FCCLA, student council, basketball, yearbook, class officer, Phi Theta
Kappa and an Aggie Club member. |

| Jayce Prock from Red Oak was
presented the Charles C. Collins Scholarship by Francis Lerblance.
Prock will be a freshman majoring in general studies. He want
to gain
and education that will help him obtain meaningful employment in the
field of his choice. Prock is the son of Greg and Suzanne Prock. He
graduated from Red Oak High School and was active in FFA, FFA Greenhand
Degree, Chapter FFA Creed Speaking Award, swine production and an FFA
officer. |

| Ashley Ford from Quinton
was presented the Chesapeake Scholarship by Frances Lerblance.
Ford is a
freshman majoring in pre-veterinary. She plans to attend Oklahoma State
University after graduating from Eastern and become a veterinarian and
open her own business. Ford is the daughter of Kimberly Ford. She is a
graduate of Quinton High School and was active in the English Club, 4-H,
FFA and the National Honor Society. |

Chelsea Williamson |
| Chelsea Williamson from Savanna
was presented the Clara Gaustad Scholarship by Frances Leblance.
Williamson is a freshman majoring in general studies, psychology
and
sociology. She is the daughter of Karen Darby. Williamson graduated
form Savanna High School and was active in the Northgate Baptist Church,
teaching piano and worked at Brad Fenton as a part-time receptionist. |

| Heather Martin was presented
the Clara Gaustad Scholarship by Frances Lerblance. Martin will
be a
freshman majoring in general studies. She would like to become a
counselor. Martin is married and has one daughter. She is active in
FBLA and vocals. |

Lincoln McKenney |
| Lincoln McKenney from Savanna was presented the
Clark and Wanda Bass Scholarship by Tom Lucas. McKenney will be
a freshman majoring in agriculture. He would like to become a fireman
or work with the Forestry Department. McKenney is the son of Kathy
McKenney. He graduated from Savanna High School and was active
in football, soil judging and FFA. |

Keiko Stebbins |
| Keiko Stebbins from Haileyville
was presented the Clark and Wanda Bass Scholarship by Tom Lucas.
Stebbins will be a freshman majoring in pre-medicine. She plans
to
become a dentist. Stebbins graduated from Haileyville High School and
was active in BPA, FFA, cheerleading, speech team, blood drives, Special
Olympics and food banks. |

| David Layton from Kiowa was
presented the Clark and Wanda Bass Scholarship by Tom Lucas. Layton
will be a freshman majoring in agriculture economics. He plans
to
become a lawyer. Layton is the son of David and Gale Layton. He
graduated from Kiowa High School and was active in the Aggie Club, FFA,
4-H, basketball, baseball, curriculum contest and livestock judging. |

| Haleigh Scherger from Canadian
was presented the Clark and Wanda Bass Scholarship by Tom Lucas.
Scherger will be a freshman majoring in biology. She plans to
get a
degree in Oceanography. Scherger is the daughter of Robin Zalky.
Scherger graduated from Canadian High School and was active in
basketball, softball, golf, cheerleading, FFa and Teens for Christ. |

Abbygail Rhodes |
| Abbygail Rhodes was presented
the Claud Corvin Scholarship by Ray Henson. Rhodes is a freshman
majoring in general studies. Her plans are to go into nuclear medicine
or possibly radiation therapy. Rhodes is a single parent and looks
forward to getting an education so she can support her family. |

| Christie Little from Clayton
was
presented the Clayton High School Scholarship by Ray Henson. Little
will be a freshman majoring in Theatre. She is the daughter of Tracey
Little. Little graduated from Clayton High School and was active in
speech, debate, drama and OSSAA. |

| Lindsey Kirksey from Heavener
was presented the Dallas Herzer Scholarship by Pat Thomas. Kirksey
will
be a freshman majoring in general studies. She is the daughter of Carol
Kirksey. Kirksey graduated from Heavener High School and was active in
Business Professionals of America, National Honor Society, honor roll,
student council, cheerleading and homecoming attendant. |

| Elizabeth Cahill from Creekview
was presented the David Joe Thomas Scholarship by Pat Thomas.
Creekview
is a freshman majoring in business administration and plans to get her
bachelor’s degree in business administration. She is the daughter of
David and Melanie Cahill. Cahill graduated from Creekview High School
and was active in Eastern cheerleading, pom and dance and the Phi Beta
Lambda Business Club. |

| Justin Kennedy from Whitesboro
was presented with the Dr. Del and Ramona Allen Scholarship by
Ramona Allen. Kennedy is a freshman majoring in agriculture education
and agriculture economics. He would like to work for the USDA or
Farm Credit. He is the son of Garry and Judy Kennedy. Kennedy graduated
from Whitesboro High School and was active in National Honor Society,
Who’s Who, State FFA Degree Recipient, Chapter Star Farmer,
basketball, baseball, BPA, Church Youth Committee member, Sunday
school teacher and his youth group. |

| Amanda Cawvey from Fort Gibson
was presented with the Dolly Harrison Scholarship by Kay Langham.
Cawvey will be a freshman majoring in agriculture education and
would like to become a cooperative extension agent. She is the
daughter of Kevin and Lorrie Cawvey. Cawvey graduated from Fort
Gibson High School and was active in FFA, FFA officer, 4-H, Art
club, Spanish Club, Teen 4 Christ and softball. |

| Lauren Hubbard from Cushing
was presented the Dolly Harrison Scholarship by Don Adkins. Hubbard
is a
freshman majoring in agriculture education with an emphasis in
horticulture. She plans to teach. Hubbard is the daughter of Chris and
Lisa Hubbard. She graduated from Cushing High School and was active in
varsity softball, varsity cheerleading, student council, National Honor
Society, Special Olympics Peer Aide, FFA, FFA Livestock Exhibiting,
baseball, Eastern Aggie Club and a Phi Theta Kappa inductee. |

was presented the Dolly Harrison Scholarship by Don Adkins. Click
will be a
freshman majoring in pre-med. She plans to earn a degree in pre-med,
then get her medical degree. Click is the daughter of Dean and Kaye
Floyd. She graduated from Muldrow High School and was active in
basketball, softball, FFA, show choir, band and the drill team. |

is
a sophomore majoring in nursing. She wants to be a Registered Nurse and
would like to work in a neonatal intensive care unit. She graduated
from Wilburton High School. She is a mother of three and her life
revolves around her family. She is active in her church and helps her
parents. |

is a freshman majoring in physical education and planning to continue

from Weleetka High School and was active in basketball, FCA, BCM
and Little Mountaineers. |

Whitehead is a freshman majoring in general studies and wants to
continue his education after graduating from Eastern. He is the
son of Eddie Whitehead. Whitehead graduated from Kinta High School
and was active in football, basketball, baseball, speech, play,
FFA and FCA. |

was presented the Dr. James M. and Nancy Miller Scholarship. Fouts
will be a freshman majoring in psychology and after getting her
masters degree at Oklahoma State University she would like to practice
psychology as a school counselor. She is the daughter of Mike and
Becky Fouts. Fouts graduated from Roland High School and was active
in the National Honor Society, Honors Club, FFA, FFA Horticulture
Team, FCCLA and History Day. |

David Lening from Moss was
presented the Dr. James M. and Nancy Miller Scholarship by Dr.
J. N. Baker. Lening is a freshman majoring in Criminal Justice
and after completing his education, he would like to become a Highway
Patrolman. Lening is the son of Mark and Deborah Lening. He graduated
from Moss High School and was active in college intramural basketball,
Student Council, FFA, academic team, baseball, basketball, skeet
shooting and was the 3rd and 4th grade basketball coach.
