More than 100 students at Eastern Oklahoma
State College received endowment scholarships through the Eastern
Oklahoma State College
Development Foundation recently at an awards assembly in the Student
Union Ballroom on the Wilburton campus. Many of the students were those
who had applied for the scholarships in early March and will be incoming
freshman when classes begin next fall.

Autumn Nelson |
| Autumn Nelson from Wister
was presented the Robert Borden Scholarship by Marilynn Duncan.
Nelson will
be a freshman majoring in agriculture education. She is the daughter of
Pat Nelson. Nelson graduated from Wister High School and was active in
FFA, FCCLA, choir, yearbook, and class officer. |

Rachel Skimbo |
| Rachel Skimbo from Wilburton
was presented the Ross and Margaret Harlan Scholarship by Marilynn
Duncan.
Skimbo will be a freshman majoring in accounting. She is the daughter
of James and Susan Skimbo. Skimbo graduated from Wilburton High School
and was active in yearbook, basketball, National Honor Society, vocal
music, Service Learning, newspaper staff and Who’s Who Among American
High School Students. |

Brooke Jones |
| Brooke Jones from Porum was
presented with the Seldon Taylor Scholarship by Marilynn Duncan.
Jones
will be a freshman majoring in education and would like to teach English
and yearbook/newspaper sponsor. She is the daughter of Raymond and
Terri Durossette. Jones graduated from Porum High School and was active
in National Honor Society, FCCLA, photography, academic team, student
council and yearbook. |

| Kala Smith from Canadian
was presented the Southwestern Bell Telephone Scholarship by Viki
Vogt.
Smith will be a freshman majoring in pre-medicine and would like to
become a doctor. She is the daughter of Kinley and Faith Smith. Smith
graduated from Canadian High School and was active in basketball,
softball, academic team, student council, Teens for Christ, class
officer and prom committee. |

| Tyler Price from Oolagah
was presented with the Southwestern Bell Telephone Scholarship
by Viki
Vogt. Price will be a freshman majoring in pre-dentisty and English and
would like to become a dentist. He is the son of Robert and Donna
Price. Price graduated from Oolagah-Talala High School and was active
in Talala First Baptist Church Youth Group, student council, varsity
wrestling team, varsity tennis team, Students in the Light and Who’s Who
Among American High School Students. |

was presented with the Thomas L. Crawford, R.N. Memorial Scholarship

Viki Vogt. Sutherland is a freshman majoring in nursing and would like
to continue her training in crisis and disaster responses. She is the
daughter of Odon Sutherland and Cindy Baugh. Sutherland graduated from
McAlester High School and was a member of the Oklahoma Student Nurse’s
Association. |

a freshman majoring in dentistry. She is the daughter of Bobby and
Vicki Mouser. Mouser graduated from Stigler High School and was active
in softball, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Technology Students of
American, Drug Free Youth and All Conference Softball Team. |

Who’s Who Among American High School Students, National Honor Academy,
National Honor Roll, Oklahoma Honor Society, S.T.A.R.S event, student
council, cheerleading, SWAT, Spanish Club and academic team. |

FCA, National Honor Society and Who’s Who Among American High School

son of Sharon and Jimmy Alford Jr. Alford graduated from LeFlore High
School and was active in State FFA Degree, FFA, class officer,
basketball, baseball and the Livestock Judging Team. |
