(Press
Release 11-06-06)
Hank Mooney, Office of Public Information
Eastern Oklahoma State College Board of
Regents Chairperson Burl Williams, right and President Dr. Richard Bernard
recognized State Rep. R. C. Pruett (District 19), center, at the regular
regents meeting on Friday (Nov. 3) for his role in starting the first
year of college program in the Antlers area. Pruett was instrumental
in drafting legislation and raising private scholarship funds for the
project. “This
opportunity represents a good first start for residents in and around
Antlers to begin their college education close to home without the usual
travel associated," Bernard said. Antlers project campus liaison Chris
Butler, left and Assistant Chief of the Choctaw Nation Mike Bailey
were
also on hand. The Choctaw Nation was also a major contributor of
scholarship funds.
