Transfer Day
Provides Students 'Seemless' Transition To Universities Eastern Oklahoma State College held its semi-annual Transfer Day recently on the Wilburton campus. The event provided information to more than 130 Eastern students and was attended by representatives from seven different universities including: Dustin Smith and Dr. Linda Massey from East Central University; Seth Fairchild and Kyle Stafford, Southeastern Oklahoma State University; Mark Shields, University of Oklahoma-Tulsa Allied Health; Courtney Hurst, Oklahoma State University; Joy Lin Husted, Rogers State University; Suzanne Myers, Northeastern State University; and Michael Willis, University of Central Oklahoma. The Transfer Day was held by the Transfer Enrollment Center which is a member of a Title III Co-Operative Grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education in the amount of $1,822,954 over a five year period. Members of the grant are Murray State College, Seminole State College, East Central University and Eastern. The purpose of the grant is to provide services to students who are graduating from each respective community college and facilitate a seamless transition into the university atmosphere. It also establishes articulation agreements between the two year and four year institutions. The grant is currently in its third year.
