Eastern Agriculture Student Captures All American Honors

Jacquelynn Welton, an Eastern Oklahoma State College agriculture communications major, recently won All American Meat Judging honors at the Excel High Plains Meat Judging Contest held in Plainview, TX. Welton, a sophomore from Poteau,  won the award based on her performance at both the Excel contest as well as the American Royal Meat Judging Contest in Kansas City, KS and the Southwestern Livestock Exposition, Ft. Worth, TX. It is also based on her college grade point average.

At the Excel contest, Welton placed second high individual in beef judging and total beef as well as fifth high individual in beef grading and in the total contest.  During the American Royal contest she placed first high individual in beef grading, third high individual in lamb and pork judging and sixth place overall high individual. During the Southwestern contest, she placed first in beef judging, fourth in questions and 11th place overall high individual.
