Provides New Technology For Area Schools

Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP for
a Brighter Tomorrow Web/Computer Tech Specialist George Larson delivered
desktop computers, LCD monitors, color printers, projectors, and
laptop computers to 19 area schools as part of the GEAR UP for a Brighter
Tomorrow partnership grant.
“The computer hardware is part of the grant’s benefits,” explained
Larson. “Eastern is partnering to provide tutoring, professional
development for teachers, summer camps for cohort students, and much
more. This is the beginning.”
Eastern Oklahoma State College received
a $6.7 million federal GEAR UP grant and is in its first year of
implementation. Eastern has partnered with area schools to provide
students with additional educational opportunities. The GEAR UP for
a Brighter Tomorrow grant application was one of 27 selected nation–wide
to receive funding.
