Agriculture Students Bring Two National Championships Home To Wilburton Campus

Agriculture judging teams from Eastern Oklahoma State College recently competed at the National Association of Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) Judging Contest in Hutchinson, KS and came home with numerous awards including two national championships. For more than 50 years, NACTA has dedicated itself to the improvement of college teaching and learning, and annually they sponsor a judging Conference.

Eastern team placings included Soils Judging in 1st place (National Champions); Dairy Judging, 1st place (National Champions);  Livestock Judging, 3rd place; Livestock Management, 3rd place; Agriculture Quiz Bowl, 3rd place; Agriculture Computers, 3rd place and Crops, 3rd place.

"We are extremely proud of all the students and coaches who represented Eastern so well," Agriculture Division Chairperson Leland Walker said.

Eastern students attending and competing included Justin Kennedy, Whitesboro; Derek Kelso, Broken Bow; Brendon Lowe, Chickasha; Tasia Perkey, Cave City, AR; Kyle Eastwood, Boswell; Jason Ray, Wanette; Justin Cantrell, Muskogee; Ryan England, Red Oak; Laura Beth O'Donnell, Carney; Eric Shaw, Antlers; Katie Fields, Mt Pleasant, TX; Jim Coffey, Prarie Grove, AR; Blaine Stacy, Oklahoma Union; Lauren Hubbard, Agra; Clint Mefford, Mead; Brooke Ross, Stillwell; Jordan McDaniel, Mt. Pleasant, TX; Justin Green, Pleasant Plains, AR and Waylon Ford, Quinton.
