Announces Outstanding Graduate Brent Shouse from Wilburton was presented the Outstanding Business Division Graduate by Division Chairperson Kay Langham during commencement exercises Friday (May 4) on the Wilburton campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College. One graduate from each of the six divisions of the college is selected each year for the honor. During commencement, five other students were also named as Outstanding Divisional Graduates including: Debra Miller, Broken Bow, Division of Applied Science; Susan Caroline Fairweather, Hominy, Division of Science and Mathematics; Twylia Sherrill, McAlester, Division of Language and Education; Jim Coffey from Prairie Grove, AR, Division of Agriculture and Kyle Littlejohn, Wilburton, Division of Social Science and Music. While at Eastern Shouse maintained a 3.95 grade point average and was among the top 10 percent of the graduating class. He has been active in Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and a member of the Mountaneer basketball team his freshman year. He was on the President’s and Dean’s Honor Rolls. He received the Dr. James Miller Foundation Scholarship and was a Presidential Scholar while at Eastern. He is the son of Leah McLaughlin of Wilburton and Bill Shouse of Tulsa and was a Wilburton High School graduate. |
