Division Announces Outstanding Graduate Twylia Sherrill from McAlester was presented the Outstanding Language and Education Division Graduate by Division Chairperson Billye Kay Givens during commencement exercises Friday (May 4) on the Wilburton campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College. One graduate from each of the six divisions of the college is selected each year for the honor. During commencement, five other students were also named as Outstanding Divisional Graduates including: Debra Miller, Broken Bow, Division of Applied Science; Susan Caroline Fairweather, Hominy, Division of Science and Mathematics; Kyle Littlejohn from Wilburton, Division of Social Science and Music; Brent Shouse, Wilburton, Division of Business and Education and Jim Coffee, Prairie Grove, AR. While at Eastern Sherrill maintained a 4.0 grade point average as an elementary education major and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Throughout the last 15 years she has enjoyed educating children in the church setting. She has taught preschool through college age children in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and Awana’s. She has also worked at the Boys and Girls Club of McAlester for two years.
