Theatre Eastern To Present Spring Musical

Miss Adelaide gets her guy -- at last! Some 1940s New York dolls congratulate long-engaged showgirl, Miss Adelaide (played by Whitney Waldrop of Wilburton), on her long-awaited wedding in the musical comedy Guys and Dolls. Guys and Dolls, a long-popular Broadway musical and audience favorite, plays Thursday, April 24th, Friday, April 25th, and Saturday, April 26th at 7:30pm in Mitchell Auditorium on the Wilburton campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College. Tickets for the classic fable about good-hearted gamblers, dancing showgirls and soul-saving missionaries, are $5 and will be available at the door. Guys & Dolls 2 Love is in the air -- or is it? 1940s New York Gambler Sky Masterson (played by Smithville freshman Boomer Lowrie) tries to convince Sgt. Sarah Brown (played by Pittsburg sophomore Rebecca Herron) to go on a dinner date with him -- to Cuba! See how it all plays out in the Eastern Oklahoma State College spring musical, Guys and Dolls by Frank Loesser, Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. Guys and Dolls, considered by many to be the greatest classic Broadway musical of all time, will open in Mitchell Auditorium on Thursday, April 24th at 7:30pm. Luck, Be a Lady Tonight! New York gambler Sky Masterson (played by Smithville freshman Boomer Lowrie) makes a life-changing bet with Nathan Detroit (played by Quinton sophomore Devin Wylie) in the musical, Guys and Dolls, which plays Thursday, April 24th, Friday, April 25th, and Saturday, April 26th at 7:30pm in Mitchell Auditorium on the Wilburton campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College. Guys and Dolls, which some audiences may remember from the movie version starring young Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra, is considered one of the great classic Broadway musicals -- packed with catchy songs like "Luck, Be a Lady," fiery missionaries, dancing showgirls, tons of laughs and a lot of heart. Tickets for the production, which stars college actors, singers and dancers, as well as local youth and guest stars, are $5 and will be available at the door.
