
Eastern Staff Delivers Graphing
Calculators To Area Schools

Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP for
a Brighter Tomorrow recently delivered calculators to six area schools.
GEAR UP delivered over 200 calculators as part of its partnership grant.
“Each student participating in GEAR UP who proves to be ‘Algebra
Ready’ will receive a graphing calculator as an academic reward,” explained
Linda Morgan, GEAR UP Project Director. “Several of the 8th grade students
in the partner schools will receive the calculators to keep and use throughout
high school and college. This is a great savings to the families of these students.”
Eastern Oklahoma State College received a $6.7 million federal GEAR
UP grant and is in its second year of implementation. Eastern has partnered
with area schools to provide students with additional educational opportunities
