Music Department To Present Spring Musical

Eastern Oklahoma State College Music Department will hold the annual Spring Concert, with one performance 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 13, in Mitchell Auditorium on the Wilburton campus.

The concert will feature Eastern’s Band, Concert Choir and Sound Sensations as they present an hour-long concert for the community at no charge.

The Concert Choir will present “music through the centuries” including When I Sing My Love before You, a Renaissance selection by G. Gastoldi; With Unmeasured Joy, Baroque by G.F. Handel; Sanctus, Classical by Franz J. Haydn and At the Name of Jesus, Contempory by Cindy Berry.

The Mountaneer Band will present a New World Symphony, a Romantic period piece by Antonin Dvorak and a series of music from spies, secret agents and detectives including: Secret Agent Man, For Your Eyes Only, Mission Impossible Theme, The Pink Panther, Scooby-Doo Where Are You and Peter Gunn Theme.

The Sound Sensations will perform It Don’t Mean a Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing, Bad Day and We’re All In This Together.

Eastern Music Instructor Paul Enis says the hour-long performance should be entertaining.

“On behalf of the Eastern Music Department, I wish to extend this special invitation to everyone in our area to join us in this evening of entertainment by our student musicians.  Come and support our students as they present their annual Spring Concert,” he said.

Student participants include:  The Concert Choir-Soprano, Kendra Click-Muldrow; Naomi Long-Savanna; Crystal Needham-Quinton; Megan O’Connor-Stigler; Whitney Waldrop-Wilburton. Alto-Caitlyn Bailey-Bentonville, Ar.; Kari Herron-McAlester; Rebecca Herron-McAlester. Tenor-Andrew Enis-Wilburton; Adam Hendricks-Wilburton. Bass-T. J. Bray-Wilburton; Luke Forwoodson-Wilburton; Spencer Ingram-Wilburton; Jeremiah Kelly-Wilburton; Boomer Lowrie-Smithville; Corey Traylor-Talihina.

The Mountaineer Band members include: Flute/Clarinet - Jenna Bills-Wilburton – Eric Gibson-Kingston; Becky Needham-Quinton; Jacqueline Payne-Talihina. Alto Saxophone Kenny Landis-Whitesboro, TX; Whitney Waldrop-Wilburton. Trumpet-Emily Enis-Wilburton; Jonathan Fletcher-Whitesboro, TX; Jeremiah Kelly-Wilburton; Krista Kendrick-Wilburton; Mike Roets-Wilburton. Trombone-T.J. Bray-Wilburton; Matt Weston-Wilburton. Tuba-Casey Reinhardt-Wilburton. Percussion-Andrew Enis-Wilburton.

The Choir and Sound Sensations are co-directed by Paul Enis and Mary Ford with Ford accompanying and Enis conducting.
