Division Announces Outstanding Graduate Randy Tipton from Stuart was presented the Outstanding Agricultural Science Division Graduate by Division Chairperson Leland Walker during commencement exercises Friday (May 2) on the Wilburton campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College. One graduate from each of the six divisions of the college is selected each year for the honor. During commencement, five other students were also named as Outstanding Divisional Graduates including: Crystal Ra’Nay Needham, Quinton, Social Science and Music Division; Jacquelyn Meyer, Preston, Division of Language and Education; Jeanette Wolf, Idabel, Division of Applied Science; Amanda Atkinson, Wilburton, Division of Science and Mathematics and James Russell, McAlester, Division of Business. Tipton has been named to both the President’s and Dean’s Honor Rolls, selected as a member of Who’s Who Among American Junior College Students, participated in Eastern’s Honor Program and served as the 2007-2008 Phi The Kappa Honor Society vice president of scholarship. He has represented Eastern as a member of the Livestock Judging Team for the past two years, provided campus tours for prospective students, served as a group leader during Freshman Orientation and has assisted fellow students as a tutor. He has a grade point average of 3.9 and will transfer to Oklahoma State University next fall where he will continue his major in Agriculture Education. |
