
Eastern President Dr. Steve Smith recently visited with Oklahoma State Regents
Academic Scholars attending Eastern Oklahoma State College. Pictured from left
are Smith; Caitlin Clifton from McAlester High School who is a life science major;
Colt Richmond from Stigler High School, Animal Science and involved with Eastern's
agriculture program and Tyler Vann from Charles Page High School in Skiatook
who is a life science major and a member of the Mountaineer baseball team. These
students receive a full tuition waiver, a full room waiver and a $900 cash award
from the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education per semester. This scholarship
is renewable as long as the student is enrolled full time and maintains a 3.0
grade point average. Eastern students are also required to perform 30 hours of
community service per semester as part of this scholarship. |

Crowder, chemistry major and Vice President of Eastern's Honors Program; Chat
Anderson, Tahlequah, animal science; Daniel Sandefur, Hartshorne, business administration
major and a member of Eastern's Honors Program; Justin Klusak, McAlester, general
studies major and a member of the Mountaineer baseball team; Ben Kozma, Owasso,
general studies major and a member of the Mountaineer baseball team. These students
received Eastern's top academic scholarship, the Presidential Leadership Award,
which is renewable for four semesters as long as the student is enrolled full
time, maintains a 3.0 grade point average, and completes community service hours.
