Rice Honored With Oklahoma Veterans Award

Eastern Oklahoma State College Registrar and Veterans Affairs Coordinator Donna Rice received the 2009 Marshal Webb Award in recognition of meritorious service to the Oklahoma Association of Veterans Coordinators and Counselors and to the Veterans of the state of Oklahoma. She was presented the award at the OAVCC state spring conference held at Quartz Mountain Resort in Lone Wolf recently (March 11-13, 2009). The award was conceived to honor individuals that have made outstanding contributions through constructive participation in veterans’ organizations and demonstrated a deep sense of caring for veterans. The organization provides a forum for the discussion, coordination and exchange of concepts, policies and efforts aimed at assisting the veteran and their needs as a student. Rice has been treasurer for OAVCC for the last two years. The organization helps coordinators and counselors keep up with ever changing federal, state and local laws and regulations affecting veterans.
