Donates 'Floats' To College Camp Submitted photo and story Wilburton Sonic Drive–In Manager Danny Womack delivered root beer floats to more than 65 GEAR UP summer camp participants the day “after” Sonic’s “Free Root Beer Float” promotion. The camp was free to GEAR UP participants. Eastern Oklahoma State College received the $6.7 million grant in 2006. Eastern has partnered with area schools to provide students and school personnel with educational opportunities. “Danny’s great!” said Linda Morgan, GEAR UP Project Director. “We did not have campers on June 5 (the “Free Root Bear Float” day), so he brought root beer floats to the campus on June 6, the first night of our third camp. He’s a great supporter of GEAR UP and area youth. This is just another example of Sonic’s willingness to support today’s youth.” Caption info:
