The annual Eastern Oklahoma Regional Science
and Engineering Fair was held recently on the Wilburton campus of Eastern
Oklahoma State College. Students from 10 area schools participated
with more than 50 entries in 16 categories. Click on photos for larger

Tiffany Krigbaum from Pocola
High School won first place in the Senior High Physical Sciences
category with her entry “Is it worth your 10 cents?”.
Her entry also earned her the United States Air Force award as
well as the United States Army award and the right to compete in
the Oklahoma State Science & Engineering Fair. |

in the Senior High Physical Sciences category with his entry “Shox
vs. LeBrons”. |

Jason O’Rear from Idabel Middle School
won second place in the Junior High Physical Sciences category
with his entry “And that’s how the ball bounces”. |

Chelsey Morris from Lane Schools
won first place in the Junior High Physical Sciences category
with her entry “Firefighter’s dilemma”. Her
entry also earned her the Society for Science and the Public
award as well as the United States Navy/Marine Core award and
the right to compete in the Oklahoma State Science & Engineering
Fair. |

Logan D. Sloan from Pocola Middle School won
first place in the Junior High Earth and Space Sciences category
with his entry “Will 2009 be the year we disprove global
warming?”. His entry also earned him the United States
Metric Association award as well as the right to compete in the
Oklahoma State Science & Engineering Fair. |

Brock Marble from Lane Schools won first
place in the Junior High Environmental Sciences category with
his entry “Bio-alternative to Methyl bromide fumigation
to control soil-borne pathogens”. His entry also earned
him the Blake Self award as well as the right to compete in the
Oklahoma State Science & Engineering Fair. |

Hayley Atwell from Lane Schools won second place in the Junior
High Environmental Sciences category with her entry “The
amount of paper wasted in different classrooms at the location
of Lane Public Schools”. |

Keely Helterbrand from Canadian High School won second place
in the Senior High Environmental Sciences category with her entry “How
clean is a restaurant?”. |

won first place in the Senior High Environmental Sciences category

of Professional Engineers award as well as the Society for Science
and the Public award and the right to compete in the Oklahoma State
