Division Announces Outstanding Graduate Sarah Hayslip from Center, TX, was presented the Outstanding Division of Business Graduate Award by Division Chairperson Kay Langham during commencement exercises Friday (May 8) on the Wilburton campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College. One graduate from each of the six divisions of the college is selected each year for the honor. During commencement, five other students were also named as Outstanding Divisional Graduates including: Julie Weeks from McAlester, Division of Language and Education; Cole Dalmont, McAlester, Division of Science and Mathematics; Andrew Enis, Wiburton, Division of Social Science and Music; Robin Burke, Talihina, Division of Nursing and Erica Gantz, Purcell, Division of Agriculture. While at Eastern, Hayslip maintained a 3.8 grade point average and is in the top 10 percent of her graduating class. She has been active in phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and serves as vice president of service and Student Senate representative for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She has been on the President’s and Dean’s Honor Roll and attended Eastern on a full scholarship for softball and she was ranked 12th in the nation for RBI’s her freshman year for NJCAA, selected 1st team All-Region as third baseman and 2nd team All-Region as shortstop her sophomore year. Her batting average was 434 with 18 homeruns to tie the school record and had 66 RBI’s. She is the daughter of Gary and Sue Hayslip, a graduate of Center High School and will attend the University of Arkansas/Monticello on a full softball scholarship as a business administration major. |
