Division Announces Outstanding Graduate Julie Weeks from McAlester was presented the Outstanding Language and Education Division Graduate Award by Division Chairperson Billye Kay Givens during commencement exercises Friday (May 8) on the Wilburton campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College. One graduate from each of the six divisions of the college is selected each year for the honor. During commencement, five other students were also named as Outstanding Divisional Graduates including: Robin Burke, Talihina, Division of Nursing; Cole Dalmont, Wilburton, Division of Science and Mathematics; Andrew Enis, Willburton, Division of Social Science and Music; Sarah Hayslip, Center, TX, Division of Business and Erica Gantz, Purcell, Division of Agriculture. While at Eastern Weeks maintained a 3.7 grade point average as an elementary education major and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She received the Eastern Oklahoma State College Citizenship Award and was named to Who’s Who Among American Junior Colleges. She served as a math tutor and resident assistant in Miller Hall and also worked at Walmart as a customer service manager while attending college. She plans to continue her college education as an elementary education major at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She is the daughter of Wesley and Bobbi Weeks. |
