Division Announces Outstanding Graduate Cole Dalmont from McAlester was presented the Outstanding Science and Mathematics Division Graduate Award by Division Chairperson Margaret Sorrell during commencement exercises Friday (May 8) on the Wilburton campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College. One graduate from each of the six divisions of the college is selected each year for the honor. During commencement, five other students were also named as Outstanding Divisional Graduates including: Julie Weeks from McAlester, Division of Language and Education; Robin Burke, Talihina, Division of Nursing; Andrew Enis, Wilburton, Division of Social Science and Music; Sarah Hayslip, Center, TX, Division of Business and Erica Gantz, Purcell, Division of Agriculture. While at Eastern, Dalmont maintained a 3.667 grade point average as a pre-pharmacy major and Presidential Scholar. He is a 2006 graduate of Indianola High School. He was named the Outstanding Student in Chemistry, to Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges, a member of the Soils Judging Team and honors programs during his freshman year. He was also a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and served as PTK student government representative for two years. He is the son of Gene and Cheryl Dalmont of McAlester. Dalmont plans to continue his education in pre-pharmacy at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater. |
