Pool Closed For Repairs The indoor, olympic-size swimming pool, used by the college and surrounding communities, on the Wilburton campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College will be closed for needed repairs and refurbishing until approximately August 5th according to Physical Plant Director Rudy O’Donley. “Beginning May 15th, we’ve begun draining the pool so that leaks can be repaired and also so that new grate covers can be installed on the bottom of the pool to be compliant with Oklahoma Health Department rules changes,” O’Donley said. “The entire pool will also be sand-blasted so it can be re-painted and re-striped. “While we’re at it, there will also be other remodeling and repairs done to the pool area including cleaning and re-painting the walls and ceiling and we will be eventually replacing the diving boards,” he added. The pool area will not be available for camps or other organizations to use during the course of the summer but should be open again before classes start in the fall.
