(Press Release 05-01-09)

Eastern Oklahoma State
College is celebrating 100 years of tradition this year and when the
fall semester rolls around, Kenton Pugh will be adding to that century-long
legacy.
Kenton will enter Eastern as a freshman in
August where he will be a part of Eastern’s Livestock Judging
Team – a team that
has a long history of excellence and a team that included Kenton’s
father, Bobby.
Bobby Pugh was on the Livestock Judging teams for Eastern
in 1987-88 and 1988-89 under the direction of Ray Rice.
“We had a really good time,” remembers the elder
Pugh of his time at Eastern.
While at Eastern, Bobby and his judging team narrowly missed
a championship by three points in 1989, placing second overall high in cattle
and horses, fifth overall high in sheep and second in oral reasons. Bobby was
the second individual high overall at that competition.
“It’s situations like this that make Eastern such
a special place,” Todd Blocker, Eastern Livestock Judging coach said. “It
is a school where parents want their children to go, so that they can have the
same experiences as they did when they were here.”
Kenton, a senior from Quinton, is looking forward to following
in his father’s boot-prints and leaving his own mark on the Wilburton college.
