
College Homecoming Royalty
Named Kelbie Kennedy from Buffalo Valley and Trevor Mintz, Shady Point, were named the 2009 Eastern Oklahoma State College Homecoming Queen and King Saturday, Nov. 7, during halftime of the men’s basketball game on the Wilburton campus. Kennedy is a sophomore English major representing the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Mintz also a sophomore is an Animal Science major representing the Bass Club. The two were chosen out of 38 students representing 19 campus organizations. The honor is based on a student popular vote, interview, grade point average and community service along with extracurricular activities. The coronation was the culmination of a week of Homecoming festivities on the campus. The Lady Mountaineers won 80-77 in single overtime against Redlands Community College while the Men’s team lost to Redlands Saturday in double overtime, 101-89.
