Area Students Attend College Career Tour

Makenzi Potts, Ashley Taber and Amber Robinson, all 8th grade students from Talihina were among more than 900 junior high students from 30 schools from 11 southeast Oklahoma counties who attended the annual College and Career Tour sponsored by Eastern Oklahoma State College. More than 86 exhibitors from area colleges, corporations and state agencies and more than 100 volunteers were on hand for the event. The students were also involved in a “game of life” where for more than an hour each student experienced everything from making decisions on how much food to buy for a month or whether to pay for the mortgage payment or the electric bill or the car payment.
