Mayor Stephen Brinlee Signs Homecoming Proclamation

Eastern Oklahoma State College cheerleader Ashley Dry from Eufaula and Eastern President Dr. Steve Smith were with Wilburton Mayor Stephen Brinlee when he signed a proclamation Friday declaring October 31 thru November 7 as Eastern Homecoming Week. Brinlee said he “urged all citizens to wear their Homecoming buttons and don Blue and Gold in honor of this world-class institution and its positive impact on our local, state and area communities.” Eastern will sponsor a homecoming parade through downtown Wilburton 10 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 7). Eastern alumni will officially induct construction company CEO and former National Basketball Association player Sam Sibert when Marcus Haynes from the Harlem Globetrotters and Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice Tom Colbert introduce him at the Annual Hall of Fame Banquet Friday (Nov. 6).
