Contemporary Shakespeare to hit Wilburton campus

Theatre Eastern is proud to announce
their first production of 2010, The Complete Works of William
Shakespeare (abridged) by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess
Winfield. The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)
is a fast-paced comedy where three actors try to relate all
of Shakespeare’s plays
to the audience in an hour or so, playing all the parts themselves.
This mix of excerpts from Shakespeare, mixed with contemporary
storytelling, promise a show that should delight Shakespeare
fans and make others look at Shakespeare in a whole new way.
As a special
treat for our audiences, we will also have a pre-show performance
of an original ten-minute play. The entire program will be presented
Thursday, March 4th at Noon and 7:30pm and Friday, March 5th
at 7:30pm in Mitchell Auditorium on the Wilburton campus of Eastern
Oklahoma State College. Tickets are only $3, and Eastern students,
faculty, and staff get in free.
The cast
of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) includes: Christopher
Horstman, Talihina freshman; Boomer Lowrie, Smithville sophomore; and Laura
Myers, Wilburton freshman. Eufaula freshman, Tiffany Clendening is the the
Stage Manager. The pre-show event is Directed and Choreographed by Dottie Minshall.
The cast includes: Jennifer Pearson, Wilburton freshman; Sherece Means, McAlester
freshman; Rachael Weems, Wilburton freshman; and Marissa Scott, a senior at
Wilburton High School.
