After an absence of several years, basketball camps will return to the Wilburton
campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College this summer. The three-day camp sessions
will begin on July 27 and end on July 29.
"We look forward to sharing our college and providing a great camping
experience for the youth in our area," Eastern Head Basketball Coach Scott
Edgar said.
He also said that boys and girls ages 6-17 participating in the camp will
receive individual and group instruction on basketball skills, fundamentals
and sportsmanship.
Coach Edgar is a 30-year veteran of college basketball. Many of his teams
have advanced into the NCAA tournament and almost 20 of his former players
have gone on to compete in the NBA.
The camp splits participants by age group. Session A will be for boys and
girls ages 6-9 years old and starts at 9 a.m. each day and ends at noon. Session
B will be for boys ages 10-12 years and lasts from 1:30-4:30 p.m. each day.
Session C will be for boys ages 13-17 years and lasts from 6:00-9:00 p.m. each
of the three days.
The $35 cost per camper includes a camp t-shirt. No meals are provided but
on-site concessions will be available.
Registration will begin one hour prior to each
session's first day. For more information or for registration forms, check
Eastern's web site www.eosc.edu under Athletics or call 918-465-1734 or 918-465-1732.
