“What a way to spend a day,” said Eastern Oklahoma State College GEAR UP Professional Development Coordinator Kelli Hopper. “Teach Like a Rock Star was motivational and inspiring. I had a great time!”

Hopper recently attended a one–day workshop in Oklahoma City. Teach Like a Rock Star provides educators with the most powerful tools, strategies, and resources available for creating an extraordinary learning environment—one where teachers have a profound educational and personal impact on the lives of students.

Hal Bowman, the author of A Grade Above, A Step Ahead, and Teach Like a Rock Star, is one of the most exciting speakers in education today. Drawing on two decades of experience in the classroom, Bowman provides teachers with unconventional, yet proven, powerful strategies that lead to academic and personal achievement for all students.

“I loved his workshop,” added Hopper. “The energy was intense, and the ideas were logical. He really enhanced my passion for students. I can’t wait to bring this training to GEAR UP teachers and staff.”

Eastern Oklahoma State College received a $6.7 million federal GEAR UP grant and is preparing for its fifth year of implementation. Eastern has partnered with 23 area schools to provide students, teachers, and parents with additional educational opportunities.
