WILBURTON, OK (Jan. 27, 2012) – Theatre Eastern is proud to present the second annual Eastern on the Edge Theatre Recital. Eastern on the Edge began last year as a classroom recital allowing theatre students to present scenes and monologues from various plays.
Theatre Eastern presents three to five main stage performances each year, and the majority of these shows are musicals, children’s plays, and comedies and dramas designed for a general family audience. Eastern on the Edge is an opportunity for students and audiences to be exposed to a wider range of theatrical literature with short pieces from various plays designed for an adult audience.
Also, for the first time, Theatre Eastern will be traveling with their recital to the McAlester Campus for a matinee performance in the conference center in the Clark Bass Building.
Eastern on the Edge 2 will feature two comedy scenes and two dramatic scenes and will last approximately an hour. Admission is free for everyone.
The cast includes EOSC English instructor Ande Davis, Wilburton sophomore Lacy Dunlap, Stuart sophomore Hailie Dust, McAlester freshman Caleb Nelms, Wilburton sophomore Marissa Scott, Eufaula freshman Thomas Trouche, and Panola sophomore Danel Walker.
The McAlester matinee performance will be Thursday, Feb. 2 at 10 a.m., and the Wilburton performances will be Thursday, Feb. 2 and Friday, Feb. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Mitchell Auditorium. For more information, contact Melissa Heath-Lee at mlee@eosc.edu or 918-465-1758.
