Homecoming at Eastern Oklahoma State College will involve a myriad of
activities starting Sunday (Nov. 2) and continuing
through the week ending the following Saturday (Nov. 8).
October 30 – Halloween Carnival
EOSC students will enjoy carnival activities set up just for them between
3 P.M. and 5 P.M. Many of our clubs and organizations are planning to
sponsor activities for the carnival. At 5P Wilburton Mayor, Steve Brinlee
will sign the Proclamation declaring November 2 – 8 as Homecoming Week. The
community carnival begins at 5 P.M. – 7 P.M. The Wilburton community
is invited to bring their children out to “trick or treat” and
enjoy the carnival activities.

Theatre
Eastern Opens Drama Season This
Week With 'Godspell'
Theatre Eastern at Eastern Oklahoma State
College will open their season with a presentation of Godspell Thursday,
October 9th, Friday, October 10th, and Saturday, October 11th at 7:30pm
in Mitchell Auditorium on the Wilburton campus.
Eastern To Offer
New Degree In Ammunition Management Safety
Interns who participate in year-long ammunition
management and safety training at the Defense Ammunition Center (DAC)
located at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant will now be able to earn
credits towards a college degree at the same time.

UP Partnership Meeting

than 55 representatives from GEAR UP partner schools, Eastern Oklahoma
State College administration and GEAR UP staff met at Eastern’s
Wilburton campus for a GEAR UP a Brighter Tomorrow Partnership meeting
recently.
College Land Lease
To Benefit Wilburton Agriculture Students
Latimer county commissioners, from
left, John Medders, District 2; Dennis Deela, District 1 and Roy Alford,
District 3, met with Eastern Oklahoma State College President Dr. Steve
Smith at the Latimer County Courthouse Monday (Sept.29) to sign a 99
year lease of Eastern property west of the Eastern Agriculture Complex
south of Highway 270 to Latimer County allowing Wilburton Public Schools
to use the land for building construction.
Sixth Rothbaum
Lecture slated for Oct. 8
Oklahoma State Representative
Lisa J. Billy will be the speaker in the sixth Julian J. Rothbaum Lectureship
Series to be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8 in Mitchell Auditorium
on the Wilburton campus of Eastern Oklahoma State College.
Billy, District 42 representative
from Purcell, serves as the Deputy Whip, Vice-Chair of the Republican
Caucus and is planning to run for a second term.
