Mountaineer Monday is Eastern's senior visitation day. A day full of food, fun and information. Students, faculty, and staff are pleased to be your hosts for a day of discovery, learning, and fun on the Eastern campus. Seniors From 36 Schools Enjoy A Full Day Of Activities

More than 300 area high school seniors from 36 area schools attended a “day full of fun and information” last week designed to acquaint them with the college setting and responsibilities.

Organizers of the Mountaineer Monday activities at Eastern Oklahoma State College fashioned the day after the TV program Cheers—“Where everybody knows your name.”

Activities for the seniors included tours of Eastern’s Wilburton campus and academic divisions, special group sessions, lunch, a dance complete with door prizes and T-shirt distribution, a pep rally and a cookout. A number of seniors stayed for the conference Men’s and Women’s basketball games that evening.

The day of activities began Monday with a 9 a.m. registration in Mitchell Hall Auditorium followed by Eastern Cheerleaders and a welcome by Eastern President Dr. Steve Smith. Dean of Students, Dr. Sally Davis gave the seniors an Eastern student update followed by Vice president for Student Services Leah McLaughlin introducing Eastern student leaders and then seniors were off on activities which lasted until 10 p.m.

Schools attending the day full of activities included: Canadian, Greene County Tech., Indianola, Moss, Panola, Kiowa, Quinton, Bokoshe, Cameron, Soper, Stuart, Wilburton, Pittsburg, Haworth, Howe, LeFlore, McAlester, Heavener, Smithville, Clayton, Okemah, Red Oak, Hartshorne, Bennington, Rock Creek, Wetumka, Wister, Talihina, Savanna, Silo, Panama, Whitesboro, Stilwell, Sallisaw, Eufaula, and Salina, Kansas.
