Homecoming at Eastern Oklahoma State College will involve a myriad of activities starting Sunday (Nov. 2) and continuing through the week ending the following Saturday (Nov. 8).

Thursday, October 30

CarnivalHalloween Carnival

      • 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm - EOSC Students
      • 5:00 - 7:00 pm - Wilburton Community
      • 7:00 pm - 11pm - Haunted Dorm (Thurs & Fri)

EOSC students will enjoy carnival activities set up just for them between 3 P.M. and 5 P.M.  Many of our clubs and organizations are planning to sponsor activities for the carnival.   At 5P Wilburton Mayor, Steve Brinlee will sign the Proclamation declaring November 2 – 8 as Homecoming Week.  The community carnival begins at 5 P.M. – 7 P.M. The Wilburton community is invited to bring their children out to “trick or treat” and enjoy the carnival activities.

The Haunted Dorm will be open to the public Thursday night after the community carnival from 7 pm - 11 pm at the West door of Salmon Hall and Friday night from 7 pm - 11 pm.  Cost is $7.00 per person.  There is an age limit.  All participants should be age 10 or older.  Enter at your own Risk!

Sunday, November 2

  • Chili Cookoff 11:30 am

Chili Cookoff

11:30 am – 1:30 pm - Eastern East Cafeteria

Bring your best pot of chili and enter it in the chili cook-off.  There will be prizes for chili in five categories – HOT, traditional, wild meat, white and miscellaneous.  If you would rather “taste” the chili, come out and vote for your favorite chili.  After you vote, grab a bowl and have some chili for lunch. 

Monday, November 3

  • Battle of the Buildings
  • Shopping Cart Jousting 4:00 pm
  • Comedy Hypnotist 7:00 pm
  • Float Preparation - 9:00 pm -12:00 am - All week

Battle of the Buildings Begins

Students in Johnston, Miller East and Miller West will compete all week by decorating various areas of their residence hall.  Each building will receive points each day and at the end of the week the Hall with the most points will receive recognition and a prize.    

Shopping Cart Jousting

4:00 pm - Campus

Club competitions kick off with Shopping Cart Jousting at 4P. Participants will “joust” with old fashioned corn brooms … one pushes the cart and the other tries to hit their opponent with the broom.  Competitors will wear catchers gear during the “joust”.

Comedy Hypnotist

7:00 pm - Mitchell Auditorium

The Hypnotist returns this year and will be in Mitchell Auditorium at 7P.

Float Preparation

All week - 9:00 pm -12:00 am

Float preparation begins and continues all week in the Goddard Building from 9P – 12A.

Tuesday, November 4

  • Battle of the Buildings continues – decorate doors of the Residence Hall
  • Frozen T-Shirt Contest 4:00 pm
  • Game Show 7:00 pm

Contestants will try to pull apart a not so nicely folded, frozen t-shirt and then they will be required to put it on.

Game Show – Think Fast will be held in Mitchell Auditorium.

Wednesday, November 5

  • Battle of the Buildings continues – decorate porch of the Residence Hall

The hilarious Mr. Eastern Contest where contestants slip on gowns and heels and compete for the Mr. Eastern crown! (Rated M for Mature)

Cheerleaders and Pom & Dance will perform. Winner of the Battle of the Buildings will be announced as well as the “Spirit Stick” winner.

This is a time for all our retired faculty and staff to come together and visit with those they have not seen in a while.

Homecoming Parade

Last year there were more than 40 entries from across the college campus and from around the community that participated in the parade. Our goal this year is to have at least 100 entries in the parade in celebration of Eastern’s Centennial. Come join the fun!

After eating everyone will make their way over to the basketball games and watch the Lady Mountaineers and the Mountaineers in action. The men will start at 1:30P and the women at 3:30P. Go Eastern!
