Saturday, August 9, 2008—8:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. 
Early Bird Move-In
This day is designed for student and their parents to get a head start on moving in.  Miller and Johnston Halls.

Freshmen Dorm Residents and Parents
This day is designed to orient those students who will be living in one of Eastern’s Residence Halls (dorms) and/or the parents of new Eastern students to the aspects of resident and college life.  Students not living in a Residence Hall are not required to attend this day, however, must attend Monday.

  • 8:00 a.m.
    Dormitories Open - All dormitory residents - please check in at the office which is located next to the front entrance of each dormitory. 
  • 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
    New Student IDs – Student Services Office.
  • 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
    Bookstore, Financial Aid, Business, and Advising Offices Open.
  • 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
    Free Lunch - West Cafeteria of the Student Union Students, Parents, Volunteers welcome.
  • 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
    Orientation Registration for Parents and Students Living in Residence Halls (Dormitories) - front of the Field House (Gym).
  • 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
    General Session for Parents and Students – Field House.
  • 2:30 p.m. 
    Break out Sessions.
  • 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
    Free Dinner in the Cafeteria.
  • 5:30 p.m.
    Meet the Parents –Miller Hall Lobby -Build your own Ice Cream Sundaes.

All Students Enrolled in OLS
The activities and sessions planned for this day have been designed to orient new students to college life.  All students enrolled in OLS 1111 or AG 1011 must attend.

  • 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
    Offices Open.
  • 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. 
    Orientation Registration for all students – Field House.
    New Student IDs – Student Services.
  • 8:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
    General Session – Field House.
  • 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
    Meet with Groups and Group Leaders.
  • 11:00 a.m.
    Return to Field House for Closing and Group Photo.
  • 11:45 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
    FREE Lunch – Cafeteria.
  • 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
    Meet with Advisors according to Division.
  • 5:00 p.m.
    Cook-out and Volley Ball - Miller Hall volleyball court.
  • Night Classes at McAlester Campus Begin.
