Eastern to host ACT Review for area students
WILBURTON, OK (Aug. 13, 2014) – High school students planning to take the ACT test this year can get receive extra preparation during an ACT review workshop at Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton on Monday, Sept. 8.
The Chad Cargill ACT Prep Workshop will focus on ACT test components including math, science, reading and English, as well as techniques for success. The cost of the workshop is $35 and participants must register in advance by Aug. 27 to reserve a space. Seating is limited.
Cargill, who is one of the most sought after ACT coaches in America, developed this workshop after taking the ACT 18 times as a high school student and raised his score from a 19 to 32.
Dr. Stephen Glazier, vice president for Student Affairs at Eastern, said Cargill will give an energetic and entertaining review while teaching students the techniques to help them achieve their best score on the ACT.
“Chad Cargill is the premier ACT presenter in the state of Oklahoma and we are pleased to be able to provide this opportunity to the high school students in our service area,” Glazier said. “Maximizing a student’s ACT score is critical in regard to earning the best scholarships available, as well as helping students avoid remedial, non-credit courses in college.”
Check-in for the workshop starts at 8 a.m. The workshop will begin at 8:30 a.m. and last until approximately 11:30 a.m. Students will be provided with snacks during the morning break and a complementary pizza buffet will conclude the workshop.

Eastern is a national ACT test site. Upcoming test dates for the ACT are Sept. 13, Oct. 25, Dec. 13, Feb. 7, April 18 and June 13. Students can register for the national ACT at act.org.
