“Some Enchanted Evening” to honor 65 years of music theatre excellence at Eastern with upcoming dinner and show
WILBURTON, OK (April 9, 2018) – A revue of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Some Enchanted Evening” will honor 65 years of musical theatre excellence at Eastern Oklahoma State College on Saturday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. A family-friendly dinner will precede the event at 5:30 p.m. in the Tourtellotte Student Center Ballroom and will feature entertainment from current Eastern music students and alumni of the Music Department.
Dr. Brandon Hendrix, director of instrumental and choral ensembles at Eastern, said the event will pay homage to both the theatre and music programs’ enduring success and also serve as a fundraiser for the Music Department. Proceeds from the event will benefit scholarships for Eastern music students.
“This is an opportunity to honor the fine artistic work that has made Eastern the cultural hub of this part of the state and pay tribute to our past success,” Hendrix said. “We hope to welcome back to campus Eastern alumni, former faculty, and students who performed in music and theatre. We also welcome anyone who supports the arts and wants to help ensure that students can continue to obtain a quality music education at Eastern.”
Tickets to the dinner are $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12. A kid-friendly menu will be available. Reservations are due by Monday, April 23 at 5 p.m. and may be made by contacting Hendrix at 918-465-1790 or former Eastern faculty member Ruth Askew Brelsford at 918-448-5034.
