Faculty: Computer Information Systems Instructor

Eastern Oklahoma State College is a comprehensive community college providing instruction in a wide range of curricula. 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree including 18 graduate hours in Computer Information Systems or closely related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to develop and grow programs.
  • Develop and teach computer information systems curriculum in areas such as programming, game design, cybersecurity, and IT fundamentals.
  • Engage students in hands-on learning projects (e.g., networking, developing games, coding and simulation challenges).
  • Prepare students to complete their associate degree, earn industry-recognized certifications, and/or pursue transfer opportunities to four-year institutions.
  •  Assess and evaluate student performance; provide constructive feedback and academic support.
  •  Stay current with industry and academic trends in computer science and technology.
  •  Responsibilities include teaching 15 credit hours each semester, 10 hours per week of student drop-in hours, developing curriculum, advising, departmental and institutional service, and pursuing continuing professional development.
  •  Candidates selected for interviews will be required to make a teaching presentation as part of the interview process. Teaching must demonstrate a learner-centered philosophy and the ability to engage and retain students.

Other Qualifications Considered:

  • Successful college-level teaching experience
  • Successful experience teaching online and/or remote courses.
  • Demonstrated experience building programs.
  • Doctorate or additional graduate hours in field.
  • Esports experience as tem memger and/or coach.

Responsibilities:  

  • The position requires teaching introductory courses in subjects such as artificial intelligence, programming, coding, cybersecurity, and computer information system
  • Responsibilities include teaching 15 credit hours each semester, 10 office hours per week, developing curriculum, advising, recruiting and placement of students, departmental and institutional service, and pursuing continuing professional development.
  •  Position may require teaching with a variety of modalities, and at multiple locations.
  • Commitment to the mission of Eastern Oklahoma State College.

Salary: Compensation will commensurate with education and experience

Length of Assignment:  9 months (August - May)
