General Studies

Earning an associate degree in Enterprise Development with a General Studies option is a great way to use the college credit you have in order to be more successful in your career. The program is designed for working adults who have already earned at least 18 hours of college credit and want to finish an associate degree. Students majoring in General Studies are advised in the Division of Language, Humanities and Education, but students are not limited to course work or fields of emphasis in this division. The General Studies major is designed for the student who wants to tailor his or her coursework to address particular educational, career, or personal goals. After completing the A.A., graduates may enter universities to major in general (interdisciplinary) studies. Students may also enter other majors, but additional lower-division courses may be needed. This degree is available in a traditional face-to-face setting or fully online.

The A.A. in Mass Communication is designed to outline the freshman and sophomore years of study for students planning to major in Mass Communication or related fields at a four-year college or university. Mountaineer Radio

Eastern is home to Mountaineer Radio "The Mix"  93.1 FM and 104.9 FM, featuring top 40, light rock, classic rock, adult contemporary, pop and cross-over country music. Students in Eastern's Mass Communication degree program are involved in all aspects of the radio station, serving as interns and on-air personalities. Students produce news and weather reports, public service announcements and other programming. Students also have the opportunity to select music, produce their own show, help with live remotes and provide play-by-play and color commentary during sports broadcasts. The A.A. in Music is designed to provide freshman and sophomore-level music instruction to students planning to complete a bachelor's degree in music, as well as those looking to acquire a deeper knowledge of the art of music. Completing the first two years of music instruction at Eastern Oklahoma State College will help lessen your overall program costs, provide you with personalized instruction, and give you the opportunity to work with community musicians while growing and developing your skill base. Students majoring in music will have the opportunity to perform in the concert band, choir, chamber groups, and recital programs.

The A.A. in Elementary Education is designed to outline the freshman and sophomore years of study for students who plan to transfer to a university to seek a degree in teacher education with certification for Pre–K through grade six. The requirements are set for this major by the Oklahoma Regents for Higher Education. The student who completes this program at Eastern with a 3.0 GPA or better may expect to be admitted to teacher training programs at regional or comprehensive universities.
