The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Council for Online Learning Excellence honored the CACE Educational Partnership, made up of Carl Albert State College, Connors State College, and Eastern Oklahoma State College, with the Oklahoma Online Excellence Award for Team Leadership. This prestigious award was presented at the recent State Regents meeting in recognition of the consortium's outstanding contributions to expanding educational access in southeastern Oklahoma.

Through the collaborative efforts of the CACE consortium, CASC, CSC and EOSC have significantly enhanced academic opportunities for rural students. By sharing resources such as courses and faculty, the consortium has addressed critical workforce needs and broadened educational access. Since its inception, the CACE consortium has shared approximately 40 courses, directly benefiting more than 637 students and saving about $80,000 annually for Eastern.

The consortium's innovative solutions, including hybrid courses and the utilization of diverse communication platforms such as social media and virtual meetings, have effectively mitigated geographic and logistical barriers.

"The CACE consortium's efforts have been transformative for our rural students,” said Dr. Janet Wansick, President of EOSC. “The partnership has provided them with unprecedented access to higher education and resources. This recognition by COLE underscores the importance of collaboration in addressing the unique challenges faced by our rural communities. We are proud to be a part of this initiative and remain committed to expanding opportunities for all our students."

The Oklahoma Online Excellence Award for Team Leadership highlights the significant advancements in online learning and the tireless efforts of educators and administrators dedicated to enhancing educational accessibility.
