Eastern Oklahoma State College’s Music Department will present its 99th annual Candlelighting program Sunday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. in Mitchell Auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public.
The program provides an opportunity for the Eastern community and area community to convene and welcome the holiday season. The event is one of the oldest traditions at Eastern and will feature performances by the Eastern Choir and Eastern Band.
Amy Swain, Eastern’s director of instrumental and choral ensembles, will lead in this display of talent. Gerri Burris and Corinne S. Packard will accompany the performances. The groups will perform a selection of numbers including “Do You Hear What I Hear,” “Silver Bells,” and “Away in the Manger.”
Students and community members performing this year include Noah Benjamin, Les Brelsford, Ruth Brelsford, Baylee Downing, Mackayla Evert, Victoria Grace Ferguson, Janice Edwards-Forwoodson, Hunter Fry, Ezekiel Gutierrez, Maurice Hawthorne, Philip Hawthorne, Jeremiah Lively, Owen Lively, Trinity Lively, Skye McLemore, Ty McLemore, Kassandra Rector, Jacob Self, Katie Smith, Mason Sumpter and Doug Voller.
