WILBURTON, Oklahoma – Eastern Oklahoma State College proudly showcased its programs, facilities, and student achievements during a Dec. 3 visit by Sean Burrage, Oklahoma’s new Chancellor for Higher Education. The visit, part of Chancellor Burrage’s statewide efforts to engage with colleges and universities, followed the annual Southeast Legislative Tour event in Krebs.
The visit highlighted EOSC’s critical role in preparing students for successful careers while addressing regional workforce demands. Burrage toured the college’s state-of-the-art meat science lab, a premier learning facility that equips students with industry-ready skills and training.
EOSC President Dr. Janet Wansick welcomed Burrage and provided an overview of the college’s innovative academic programs, workforce development initiatives, and partnerships with local businesses. “Eastern’s programs and initiatives clearly demonstrate the college’s dedication to student success and regional economic growth,” Wansick said. “We are proud to be a key part of Oklahoma’s higher education system and to partner with the State Regents in advancing their Blueprint 2030 vision.”
The chancellor’s visit reinforced EOSC’s position as a leader in technical education and community development, showcasing the college’s impact on southeastern Oklahoma.
