Eastern’s annual Community Chili Cook-Off returns on Nov. 7 during Homecoming Week

October 31, 2022

Eastern Oklahoma State College’s annual Community Chili Cook-Off returns this year on Monday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the Tourtellotte Student Center Ballroom. The popular community event will take place for the first time since COVID-19 and is planned to open Eastern’s 2022 Homecoming week festivities.

Individuals, businesses or teams are invited to enter the friendly competition and participants can sample the variety of chili recipes. The event is free and open to the public.

The competition will recognize the best recipe in three categories, as well as a “Taster’s Choice” award voted on by all in attendance. Categories include Community Members and Organizations, Eastern Faculty Divisions and Staff Departments, and Eastern Student Organizations.

Participants will need to prepare at least a six-quart crockpot of their chili ready for judging at 6 p.m. A six-foot table and two chairs will be provided, but teams will need to supply their own extension cords and table decorations.

Entry forms for competing teams and individuals must be submitted by noon on Nov. 4 for setup purposes. Visit eosc.edu/homecoming for the complete competition rules, an entry form and additional information concerning all of Eastern’s 2022 Homecoming festivities.
