WILBURTON, Oklahoma – The Eastern Oklahoma State College meat judging team continued its winning streak, securing the Champion Team title at the South Plains Contest with an impressive first-place finish in grading and total beef. The team also earned second place in questions, lamb judging, and pork judging, along with a third-place finish in beef judging.
EOSC’s outstanding performance was led by Hannah Morphis of Boswell, who was named High Individual of the contest. She placed second in beef judging, third in questions, fourth in beef grading and pork judging, and fifth in placings. Cadence Myers of McCurtain also had a strong showing, finishing as the fourth high individual and earning second in lamb judging and fifth in questions. Averie Bain of Valliant claimed tenth high individual and took first in beef grading. Eli Whitney of Clinton had a solid performance, finishing fifth in beef grading. Gracie Ward of Indianola was named High Alternate, earning the highest score in the contest. Robert Kincade of McAlester finished as the third high alternate, while Bailyn Hill of Antlers placed as the sixth high alternate.
“These students have worked so hard and deserve all the accolades they have garnered,” said Jade Edwards, EOSC’s meat judging coach. “Even with their success, they come into practice every day striving to get better. That dedication is what makes EOSC such a great place. We really appreciate the support from the college, community, and alumni.”
This victory marks the third contest win for the EOSC meat judging team in 2025.
