WILBURTON, Oklahoma – Three Eastern Oklahoma State College staff members recently completed the Leadership Latimer County program as members of Cohort 3.
Marketing and Communications Administrative Assistant and Cheer Coach Emma Beck, Oklahoma Small Business Development Centers Business Advisor Trinity Lively, and Marketing Coordinator Tracie Teague were honored at the graduation ceremony for Cohort 3 held at Serendipity Event Center in Wilburton on Aug. 7.
Leadership Latimer County was created in 2022 by the Wilburton Area Chamber of Commerce to develop local leaders and encourage civic involvement in the county. Members of the program explore area businesses and government offices to better understand the community in which they live.
Cohort 3 took trips to Robbers Cave State Park, the Choctaw Nation Healthcare Center in Talihina, Wilburton Water Treatment Plant, the Latimer County Courthouse, the Edwards Store in Red Oak and more throughout their time in the program.
“I’m very proud to have been part of Leadership Latimer County,” Teague said. “This experience was a great reminder of how important collaboration is in building a stronger future. Every visit, every conversation, and every connection made reinforced just how much potential exists right here in our area.”
The Wilburton Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for Cohort 4. Applications can be submitted via the link below. The deadline to apply is Oct. 1.
