The Student Consumer Regulations of the U.S. Department of Education require colleges and universities to provide students access to certain information to which they are entitled as consumers. This webpage provides a single access point to all reports and disclosures mandated by The Higher Education Act of 1965 (HEA), as amended by the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (HEOA). The HEOA requires disclosure of certain information to prospective and current students, staff and the general public. Additional information or written documentation about specific programs and services is available through the individual offices.

Personally Identifiable Data

What personally identifiable data is being stored?

Eastern Oklahoma State College may collect personally identifiable data, which may include certain information related to students, potential students, employees and vendors. Personally identifiable data is defined in 74 O.S. § 3106.4 (D) as:

Information that can identify an individual including, but not limited to, name, birth date, place of birth, mother's maiden name, biometric records, Social Security number, official state- or government-issued driver’s license or identification number, alien registration number, government passport number, employer or taxpayer identification number or any other information that is linked or linkable to an individual, such as medical, educational, financial or employment information.

How is the personally identifiable data stored?

Personally identifiable data is stored on EOSC’s secured servers, digitally on computers, on backup media, securely in the cloud and in secured locations if in paper form.

With whom does EOSC share the personally identifiable data?

EOSC shares personally identifiable data only as allowed by law. EOSC does not sell, rent, or lease personally identifiable information to entities outside the institution. Examples of with whom EOSC might share personally identifiable data include:

  • Federal and State licensing and regulatory boards
  • Federal and State Courts and pursuant to a court order of valid subpoena
  • Insurance providers
  • Learning Management Systems
  • Collection agencies

Gramm-Leach Bliley Act

All information submitted for the purpose of securing financial aid is protected under EOSC’s acceptable use and computer use policies, FERPA, and the Gramm-Leach Bliley Act of 1999.
